Laurie Silverstein

Founder, Gen Soul Youth

I'm a mom like you, hoping to build a better, more compassionate world for our kids.  Raising three raising kids in Los Angeles, I’ve experienced firsthand how essential it is for children to feel seen, supported, and empowered. My inspiration for creating GEN SOUL YOUTH grew from watching my own kids thrive when surrounded by compassionate educators and expressive creative arts. During challenging moments, we were also fortunate to lean on teachers and therapists who offered stability, strength, and heart.

In a world that can often feel unpredictable, I believe that our children need tools that help them feel rooted, resilient, and confident in who they are.  Gen Soul Youth was born from this belief—a wellness program dedicated to nurturing our children through mindfulness, movement, and creativity. My mission is to create a space where kids can feel free to express themselves, build emotional strength, connect with others, and grow into the truest version of their souls.

Dalida Haytayan

Mindfulness/Creative Movement

Dalida has had a passion for dancing ever since learning to walk and has been teaching movement for over twenty-five years!  Her teaching career began exceptionally early, as a high school student, creating and choreographing performances for the school and community. From there, she was accepted to a dance conservatory in Istanbul to study contemporary dance and then went on to dance with a Canadian company, where she specialized in contact improv style of dancing.

She moved to Los Angeles in 2005 to raise her family, and since then, has taught and created dance curriculums for Campbell Hall, Neighborhood School, Children's Community School, and Westland.

Dalida is also a certified yoga instructor and a member of the National Dance Educators Organization. This year, she worked with somatic movement educator, Susan Bower, to create a dance curriculum that integrates mindfulness with the art of movement.

Dalida hopes to pass down her passion for dancing, movement and mindfulness to the next generation. “Dancing makes me feel alive, strong, and at home in my body – these are the qualities that I work hard to pass on to my students.”
